Core Strengths - Epidemiology

Epidemiology is the fundamental methodology of public health research. PHRI Investigators study the factors underlying health and illness in populations, including understanding the incidence (the percentage of cases reported each year) and prevalence (total percentage of cases in the population) of disease. Our work is also important in identifying risk factors and determining the most effective clinical approaches to disease. PHRI Investigators apply quantitative methods to diagnostic, prognostic, therapeutic, and preventive questions encountered in the clinical care of patients.
