Aaron McMurtray, M.D., Ph.D.
Aaron McMurtray, M.D., Ph.D. is a PHRI Investigator and an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii. Dr. McMurtray graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School in May of 2000, completed Neurology residency at Harbor-UCLA in June of 2004, and also served a two-year research fellowship in Dementia and Aging Research at the University of California at Los Angeles under the mentorship of Mario Mendez, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. McMurtray received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Hawaii in May of 2008 and is currently the project neurologist for the Honolulu-Asia Aging study at PHRI. Dr. McMurtray has been awarded competitive funding from organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology Foundation and the University of Hawaii Clinical Research Center. His research interests include biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitively successful aging.
