Support PHRI

The Pacific Health Research Institute (PHRI), founded almost fifty years ago as Hawaii’s first medical research organization, needs your help.

Traditional sources of support for biomedical research are shrinking. Since 2003, competing national priorities have restricted funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the federal agency primarily responsible for supporting medical research and the primary funder of PHRI studies. In fact, taking inflation into account, NIH funding has declined almost 15% in the last five years. Yet the unprecedented aging of our population makes health research and improvements in how we treat illness and disease all the more critical.

We ask for your support to help fuel PHRI research. To remain a center of excellence we need to recruit new Investigators. We need to support current researchers during gaps in grant funding. And we need to expand our studies into the emerging health issues that affect all of our lives. Your tax-deductible donation will help us support our vitally important mission – health research for your health.
